Hughley Elite 8th White with another thriller…
Hughley Elite 8th White comes away with another thriller at the end where free throws almost cost the game. It was a great game throughout the 3 quarters where Elite lead most of the game, yet free throws have been a key point Coach Hughley has been stressing about to his players in practice, how they can easily come back and cost you a Championship. Coach Hughley and Coach Day were right, and the YBOA Championship vs. the Coral Springs Explosion drove the point home. It came down to what the Coaches have been stressing to their team about. Less than 1 minute to go Elite up by 9 the visiting team Coral Springs Explosion hits 2 quick 3′s to put them down by 3 with 10 seconds to go. Elite goes to the line 3 times in a row and misses all free throws. Explosion came down and got fouled for a 3pt shot. J.V. comes to the line and knocks down 2 of 3 Free throws, Elite win by 1. It was nail bitter but Elite finished again… champions of a Coral Springs Tournament.
Elite 5th on the way to great success…
After long grueling practices outside and many games fighting to the end, Hughley Elite 5th is on their way to great success… With one of the Best AAU coaches in the game, Eric Newsome is finding himself building another great powerhouse under the Hughley Elite organization. Eric Newsome runs two teams under Each 1 Teach 1 travel Basketball program were most of those boys started out with Coach Hughley and continued on with him at Grandview Prep. This nationally ranked team includes Sean Walsh, Ivan Cantae, Jalen Newsome, Mike Oconnor, Alex Joens just to name a few of the talented players that have been coached and trained by Sanchez Hughley. And with the help of Coach Skip it won’t be too long before this team is nationally known.
6th Grade Championship Runs…
The 6th Grade program is taking off very quickly between the White and Blue team having an amazing 7 for 12 record when it comes to championship wins. The 6th Grade Blue Team has won their last 2 tournaments heading into this weekend’s Battle in Boca to clench 3 in a row. Hughley Elite Started out with two great individuals Colby Gratton and Chris Newbold volunteering to take this team from something to nothing, at first the team lost every game in every tournament. With hard work and dedication and adding Coach Carderro Nwoji to the mix this team has added to the White team Fire power and soon the two will be competing for championships together in tournaments. All Tournament was led by Chase Strippoli and Miles Polley. Hughley Elite 6th Blue’s record is now 11-1.
Hughley Elite 4th Grade Snags Championship
Hughley Elite 4th Grade clinches 1 of 2 Championships in the Coral Springs Explosion Tournament competing two weekends in a row against the South Florida Wildcats in the championship game. Since adding a couple of key players and help and assistance from Coach Alex Tucker the 4th grade is one of the top competitors in tournament play. 10-2 record in YBOA. Deozzie Sylvester, Kobe Rabkin, Carrington Campbell, Kobe Pelissier and Veelesk taking home MVP and all tournaments awards. Also, great plays and minutes from Zach Goldstein, Burke Bloom, Tyler Jones, Luke Fatovic, Jett Sack, Ryan Sam, Jesse Ronan.
